James M. Madden

James Marvin Madden died Friday, March 27, 2009, at AnMed Health.
Born in Anderson County, Mr. Madden was the son of the late James O'Dell and Margaret Whittle Madden. Mr. Madden served his country in the US Air Force with four years of service. He was stationed at Clark Field in the Phillipines during the Korean War as a radio operator, air traffic controller, and a marksman. Mr. Madden graduated from Pendleton High School and attended Clemson University on a basketball scholarship. After his service in the US Air Force Mr. Madden attended and gradutated from Piedmont College with a degree in Business and Accounting. He retired from Uniroyal/Goodrich as a business accountant. Mr. Madden was a member of the Anderson First Baptist Church. He was a past president of both the Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club and was a member of the Peach Bowl Committee.
Surviving are his wife of 50 plus years, Betty Madden; sons, Marvin Anthony Madden and his wife Carolyn of Grayson, Georgia, and Timothy Brown Madden and his wife Teresa of Anderson; grandchildren, Trinity, Timberlie, and Twila Madden all of Anderson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road with the Rev. Dr. James R. Thomason and Rev. Glenn Bolt officiating. Burial will follow in the Veteran's Garden of Honor of Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
