James "Jimmy" Stephen McNeely, 68, of 101 View Place Court, passed away Wednesday June 1, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital - Downtown.

Mr. McNeely was born in Greenville County, SC, a son of the late Willie Stephen and Francis Young McNeely. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War era. He was a member of the DAV - Chapter #1, the American Legion Post 0507 and Tanglewood Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, June Hawkins McNeely, of the home; two daughters, Tammie McNeely O'Shields (Danny) and Annette McNeely Usery (Jimmy), all of Easley; two brothers, Jack McNeely (Jeannette), of Easley and Ronnie McNeely (Carol), of Columbia, SC; a sister, Peggy McNeely Findley (L.P.), of Jackson, SC; grandchildren, Tiffany J. Ledbetter (Jason), 2nd Lt. Stephen C. Usery (USMC), and K. Brianna O'Shields; great-grandchildren, Jason Ledbetter and Chase Ledbetter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, L. Tommy McNeely.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road with the Reverend Shane Donald and the Reverend Duree Propes officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

The family is at the residence.
