James Bagwell (Jim) MerckPiedmont
James Bagwell Merck (Jim), 51, went to be with the Lord on December 12th at Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 24th, 1964 in Anderson County to James and the late Peggy Merck. Jim grew up in Piedmont and graduated from Wren High School in 1982. After high school, he attended Clemson University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. He has been employed with Owens Corning in Starr, South Carolina.
Jim married Bonnie Lynne Conn in 1995 and they have three children, Abbi (16), Connor (15), and Carson (11). He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served the Lord faithfully for many years.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Merck, of the home; his children Abbi, Connor, and Carson of the home; his father; James K. Merck (Ms. Dana) of Piedmont; his sister, Suzanne Tripp of Piedmont; his sister-in-law Laurie Cox (Mike); his brother-in-law Dan Conn (Lisa); his sister-in-law Darlene Neely (Patrick); his brother-in-law Darrell Conn (Joanna); and 14 nephews and 14 nieces.
A funeral service will be held at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church at 101 Pisgah Road, Easley, SC, on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Larry Ferris and Reverend Chad Campbell officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will be greeting friends and relatives at a "Celebration of Life" in the Mount Pisgah gymnasium following the service.
