James Terry Nix, 60, of 100 Wildacre Drive, went to be with the Lord Friday July 24, 2009 at Palmetto Health Baptist - Easley.

Mr. Nix was born in Easley, a son of the late James Olin and Ressie Crowe Nix. He earned a Masters Degree in Christian Education from Trinity College. He retired from the Pickens County Sheriffs Department in 1993 and also retired from the Furman University Police in 1997 and currently served as a State Constable. He has served on the Board of Directors for Pickens County Seniors Unlimited and was active in many other areas of Pickens County. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Pam Powers Nix, of the home ; sons, Matthew K. Nix, of Easley and Zackary K. Nix, of Pickens ; a daughter, Brandy Nicole Powers, of Pickens ; a sister, Sandra Bolding and her husband, Barry, of Greenville.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown with the Reverend Dr. Danny Parton and Reverend Mickey Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The escort of honor for the service will be members of the Pickens County Sheriffs Department.

Visitation will be 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Tuesday , prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family is at the home.
