James Durrett Patterson, 89, husband of Emma Patterson, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 16, 2006, following an extended illness.
James D. Patterson was the only child of of James and Hilda Bule Mensing Patterson born on September 1, 1917, in San Jose, California. After graduating from high school, he continued his education at Azusa Pacific Bible College and Los Angeles City College. On December 31, 1955, James married Emma Winifred Bagley, formerly of Connecticut. James retired from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in 1983, after 25 years of service. In 1992 James and Emma relocated to Easley, South Carolina, where he attended Easley Church of God.
James is survived by his wife, Emma Bagley Patterson and many loving in-laws.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Reverend David Sustar officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown is assisting the family with arrangements.
