Rev. James “Jim” Patterson, 69, went to be with his Savior on November 17, 2016.
Jim was the beloved husband of Brenda Odom Patterson, the adoring father of Jamie Adams and her husband Scott, doting “Gandy” to Raleigh Amanda Adams and James Wilson (Wil) Adams.
Jim was born in Panama City, Florida; he was the son of the late James Solomon (Sol) and Helen Moline Patterson, and the brother to Daniel Wayne Patterson (Carol) and Susan Mugglestone.
Jim spent the majority of his life in service for his Lord Jesus Christ. During his 50 years of ministry, Jim served as state finance director for The Church of God of Prophecy in Alabama and South Carolina, and served as head pastor at churches in both states. Upon retirement from pastoring, Jim continued his ministry and love of people, by using his position as owner of Patterson & Adams Tax Service to witness, counsel, befriend and love his clients.
In addition to his immediate family, Jim is survived by his sister-in-law Karen and her husband Lamar (Peanut) Truett, his dearest friends Dale and Keitha Vicars, and Paul Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21st at 12:00 PM in Robinson Funeral Home - 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley with Rev. Lemar Tollison officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family is at the family home.
