Mr. James Randel Putnam, Sr., 90, husband of the late Barbara Gillespie Putnam, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Archie Criswell and Clara Bell Harris Putnam, Mr. Putnam retired from Woodside Mill-Easley with forty-three years of service and later retired from Peoples Bancorporation. He was an Eagle Scout. Mr. Putnam was lifelong member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church where he served as deacon and church treasurer, and was a US Army Veteran having served in WWII.

Surviving are a son, Jim Putnam (Beverly) of Kings Mountain, NC; a grandson, Clay Putnam (Natalie) of Greer; and a great-grandson, Gray Bennett Putnam. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Putnam was predeceased by a brother, Edward Putnam.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, March 11, 2016 at Geer Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Phil McAlister Officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

Family members are at their respective homes.
