James Clifton "J.C." Rackley, 88, of 307 Old Liberty Road, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.
Born in Liberty, Mr. Rackley was a son of the late James Walter and Anna Rothell Rackley. Mr. Rackley was a retired Automotive Transmission Specialist and attended Park Street Baptist Church. He was a life-member of Bates Lodge No. 189 A.F.M. and the Hejaz Shriners. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
Surviving are three sons, Mitchell (Connie) Rackley of Kingsport, TN, Stanley (Judy) Rackley of Easley and Danny (Donna) Rackley of Pelzer; one brother, Clyde Rackley of Easley; one sister, Kathryn Rampey of Six Mile; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Rackley was predeceased by his wife, Hazel Aileen Nations Rackley; and two sisters, Lucille Chapman and Ovilene Porter.
Funeral services will be 3 PM, Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Dr. Alton Nix officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM, Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
