James Horace Scruggs, Sr., 65, of 228 Golden Creek Road, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, a son of Alice Marie Elrod Scruggs of Easley and the late Walter Truman Scruggs, Mr. Scruggs retired as owner of Scruggs Dry Wall Company and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are a son, James Horace Scruggs, Jr., of Liberty; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Scruggs Hannah (Doyce Roger) of Liberty; three brothers, Derwin Winfield Scruggs and Randall Eugene Scruggs, both of Norris, and Edward Dorsey Scruggs of Easley; three sisters, Rosa Bell Waldrop and Lola Mae Suddeth of Easley and Wauna Katherine Brictenham of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Sutherland, James Horace "Trey" Scruggs, III, and Serenity Jane Scruggs; and great-grandchildren, Trinity Lynn Sutherland and Trenton Gage Sutherland.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 1:45 PM Monday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
The family is at residence.
