James Franklin (Bill) Smith, 75, of 200 South 9th Street, died Friday, January 9, 2009 at Palmetto Health Baptist, Easley.

Born in Easley, a son of the late William Frank and Georgia Marie Smith Smith, he was a retired employee with Southern Weaving, a mason, a US Army Veteran and a member of Glenwood Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Annie Jeanette King Smith of Marshall, NC; four sons, Randall Smith, Robbie Smith, Joey Smith and Franklin Smith all of Easley; three daughters, Kathy Smith Burgess of Anderson, Anna Smith and Hollie Smith both of Easley; one brother, George Edward Smith of Liberty; one sister, Betty Anders of Easley; five grandchildren, Bridget Smith, Andrea Smith, Tiffany Burgess, Theodore Joshua Smith, Bryli Ann Riddle and a soon to be born, Claire Autry Smith; and 2 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Montez Stansell Smith; a son, Allen Smith; and a sister, Carol Nicholson.

Funeral Services will be 3:30 PM, Saturday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3:30 PM, Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of a daughter, Hollie Smith, 101 Beverly Drive, Easley, SC 29640.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
