Mr. James Dan Smith, 85, of 110 Griffin Court, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Hospice of the Upstate, Anderson.
Born in Oconee County, a son of the late James Archie and Bessie Woodall Smith, Mr. Smith retired from Woodside Mills and was a member of Ruhamah Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Victoria Crowe Smith, of the home; two sons, Stan Smith (Alane) of Anderson and Larry Smith (Shirley) of Taylors; three daughters, Evelyn Gaines (Edward), Pam Harris (Randy) and their daughter Kimberly Ann Harris, all of Easley and Sandra Rice of Seneca; one brother, Rev. Bill Smith of Taylorsville, NC; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was predeceased by one brother, Archie Junior Smith.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Wayne Garmon officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, West.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Family members are at their respective homes.
