James Clyde 'JC' Sutherland, 79, of Easley, loving husband of Barbara Sutherland, passed away on June 12, 2020 at his home.
Born in Pickens, he was a son of the late Robert Grady Sutherland and Leila Lee Simmons Sutherland. He was a hardworking man who retired from the Energy Plant of the Greenville Health System after working there for 27 years. JC greatly enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, fishing, working in the garden- especially his red rose flower bed, and cheering on Rusty Wallace in NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; his sons, Jimmy Sutherland (Cindy) of CA, Norman Sutherland (Tracy) of Easley; daughter, Melissa Williams (Larry) of Easley; step-sons, Robert Matthews (Jennifer) and Gene Matthews, both of Easley; step-daughter, Donna Shealey (Dean) of Pickens; sister, Barbara 'Bobbie' Turner (James) of Easley; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Junior Sutherland and his sister, Betty Harbin.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home- Powdersville Road Chapel. To view the service scroll to the bottom of the page.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Visitors will be able to speak with the family in intervals of no more than four people at this time.
