Reverend James Ray Towe, 94, widower of Helen Duncan Towe, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Rev. Towe was born in Oconee County, a son of the late J. B. and Ora Jennings Towe. He was a retired minister.
Surviving are his children, Patricia Emerson and husband, Alvin of Seneca, Martha Newton and husband Ron of Clemson, Wanda Huggins of Anderson, Deborah Dukes and husband, Bobby of Six Mile and Jimmy Towe of Six Mile; grandchildren Reggie Newton, Bradley Newton, Chris Newton, Anne Michaud, Robby Dukes, Sara Bryce; and great grandchildren, Jake Newton, Casie Newton, Gabbie Lochbaum, Brendon MacDermott, Carter, Gage and Grayson Dukes, and Ansley and Lyla Gerretzen.
In addition to his parents and wife of 60 years, Rev. Towe was predeceased by brothers, Esco, Cliff and Lee Towe; sisters, Jessie Bradley, Ethel Smith, Pearl Smith and Ruth Riggins; and son-in-law, Bill Huggins.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express a sincere appreciation to Dr. Sanjeev Kumar and his staff at Divine Hospice, to the staff at Brookdale Central, and in his final hours the staff of Rainey Hospice House.
