James Steven Young, 60, of 505 Echo Circle, died Saturday, August 1, 2009, at his home.
Born in Cleveland, OH, the son of the late James Fredrick and Katherine Hnatt Young, Mr. Young retired as a construction worker with Local 44 in Ohio, and was of the Catholic faith. He served with the US Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Weinmeister Young of the home; three daughters, Jennifer Spurgeon and husband, Dan, of Cleveland, OH, Julie Ingraham and husband, Chris, of Easley, and Jamie Dunnigan and husband, Sean, of Simpsonville; three sisters, Janis Weinmeister of Cape Coral, FL, Jeanne Uram and June Lyons, both of Cleveland, OH; and nine grandchidren, Daniel Spurgeon, Jr., Dylan Spurgeon, James Spurgeon, Alexis Dunnigan, Victor Spurgeon, Isabella Ingraham, Luke Ingraham, Sydney Dunnigan and Abbigail Ingraham. In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was predeceased by a daughter, Joanne Young.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.
The Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m.
