Jan R. Schueren

Jan Robert Schueren, 92, husband of Phyllis Wolfe Schueren passed away quietly at his home with his wife at his side.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, Jan was a son of the late Carl and Esther Harrison Schueren. He earned an associate degree from the University of Toledo. He had a 32-year engineering career and was one of the first five engineers that moved from Ohio to open the Champion Spark Plug Aviation Plant in Pickens County. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing golf, working in his yard, rose and vegetable gardens, and fixing his cars. In his younger years he loved playing softball.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 66 plus years are sons, Daniel Joseph Schueren and his wife, Kathleen of Lake Orion, Michigan and Martin Francis Schueren and his wife, Clare of Marietta, Georgia; daughter, Anne Marie Colatruglio and husband, Daniel of Tiffin, Ohio; brother, Alan Schueren of Perrysburg, Ohio; sisters, Judy Osborne of Toledo, Ohio and Lynn White of Perrysburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Morgan and Vincent Anway, Benjamin and Emily Schueren, and Samuel and Zachary Schueren.
In addition to his parents, Jan was predeceased by his brother, Gary Schueren; and sister, Kay Jones.
A Remembrance Mass will take place on Friday, October 6, 2023, the date which would have be the 67th wedding anniversary, and will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Clemson, SC.
A burial service will take place at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery in Perrysburg, Ohio at a yet to be determine date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Foothills or to St. Andrew Catholic Church.
