Jane Graham Lay

Jane Graham Lay, age 59, of 119 Hagood Street, Pickens, SC passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at St. Francis Eastside Women's Hospital.
Born in Ft. Jackson, S.C., Jane was the daughter of Colonel James Richard Lay, Sr. and the late Josephine Graham Lay of the home. She graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Arts, and she received her Masters Degree in Counseling from Webster University. Jane taught art in Summerville, and she was an avid reader. She was s member of University Lutheran Church in Clemson. She loved her dogs.
Ms. Lay is survived by her father, Colonel James Richard Lay and his wife, Jean H. Lay, of Pickens; a son; Graham Richard Lay, of Pickens; a brother, James R. "Jimmy" Lay Jr. and his wife, Sheila, of Charlotte, NC; and a sister, Susan Lusk, and her husband, Dwayne Lusk, of Clemson.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Foothills Humane Society, 500 Five Forks Rd, Liberty, SC 29657.
