Janet Nalley Childress, 71, wife of William "Bill" Childress, of Clayton, NC, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Born in St. Augustine, FL, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Calvin and Virginia Jones Nalley.
Janet received a bilateral lung transplant surgery at Duke University over 17 years ago. Due to the care of the Duke transplant team, she has had an amazing journey.
In addition to her loving husband, Janet was survived by brothers, Chuck and John Nalley.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Hillman.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boykin Spaniel Rescue, 112 Hunter Ridge Dr, Spartanburg, SC 29316 or to a charity of one's choice.
