Janet Hooper Wike, 79, of Easley, wife of Donald Raymond Wike, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at McCall Hospice House.
Born October 17, 1935 in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Ben Herman Hooper, Sr. and Tweeter Hembree Hooper. Mrs. Wike was the registrar at Washington Ave. Christian School for twenty years, but retired from Greenville Hospital Children's Clinic after twelve years of service. She was like a mother to so many children, giving sacrificially of her time and sewing talents. Mrs. Wike was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband of nearly sixty-one years, she is survived by her children, Donna Wike Murray, David Wike (Diana) and Elaine Wike Knox (Karl); grandchildren, Jake Murray (Deirdre), Jillian Murray, Krissy Wike and Drew Wike; great-granddaughter, Molly Murray;
sisters, Bobbi Greenwood, Sue Dickerson, Evelyn Radcliffe and Frankie Kelly; and brother, Ben Hooper, Jr.
Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 West Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29680.
