Janice "Jan" Austin

Janice “Jan” Austin, 74, beloved wife of the late James “Mike” Austin, Sr., passed away at her home in Taylors, South Carolina, on June 14, 2026.

Born on January 31, 1952, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late George Champion and Vera Cantrell. She shared 57 loving years of marriage with her beloved husband, Mike. Jan was a full-time loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family and found great joy in caring for them. Above all, she was a loving presence to those around her. Jan was a woman of warmth and generosity, whose influence and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Christy Mooney (Ken) and Carla Styles; her son, James "Jimmy" Austin, Jr. (Shannon); her grandchildren, Morgan Gentry (Bradley), Samantha Lyles (Cody), Bradley Styles (Jessica), and Haleigh Styles (Jed Giddley); great-grandchildren, Clayton Gentry, Carter Styles, Carson Styles, Ace Lyles, Aaliyah Giddley and Blakely Gentry; her sister, Amanda Prince; her brother-in-law, Randy "Biscuit" Carl Austin.

Jan is preceded in death by both her parents.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road, followed by a graveside service at 1 PM in M. J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

The Austin family will accept flowers.
