Janice Ruth Grover, 89, of Easley, South Carolina, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, April 9, 2026. She passed peacefully under the compassionate care of hospice, the kind staff of Foothills Retirement Community, and her loving family. Born on March 5, 1937, in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Wreford Stanley Norton Reynolds and Alice Trow Reynolds.
Janice studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and later served in the Art Department at Clemson University, where she shared her gifts in painting, lettering, and calligraphy. Her exquisite calligraphy graced countless projects and personal creations. Each year, she delighted family and friends with hand-lettered Christmas cards adorned with Scripture verses—an expression of both her artistry and faith. A talented gardener and certified Master Gardener, Janice found joy in cultivating beauty, whether on paper or in the soil.
More than her artistic and professional pursuits, Janice cherished her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the devoted wife of the late Alan Dickie Grover and the loving mother of Mark Alan (Lori) Grover, Alice Jean (Rob) Vaughn, Nancy Elizabeth Allan, and Daniel Roy (Nancy) Grover. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, each of whom she dearly loved and faithfully prayed for.
Janice’s life was anchored in her faith in Jesus Christ. As a charter member of Clemson Presbyterian Church (PCA), she sought simply to be remembered “as a good mother and a faithful servant to the Lord”—a legacy joyfully affirmed by her family and friends.
A service of worship and thanksgiving for her life will be held at Clemson Presbyterian Church (PCA) on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with Senior Pastor Bryan Counts officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. A private burial will take place at Memory Gardens on Issaqueena Trail in Central, under the care of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Deacons’ Mercy Fund of Clemson Presbyterian Church and given online at www.clemsonpres.org.
Janice rested in the invitation of Jesus: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28–30), and in His promise: “I go to prepare a place for you... that where I am you may be also” (John 14:1–4).
