Janice Hanvey Kajs, 48, of 43 Madison Court, wife of the late John Gregory Kajs, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at her home.
Born in Anderson County, a daughter of David and Lois Chapman Hanvey of Greenville, Mrs. Kajs was a secretary with St. Luke's Catholic Church where she was also a member.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are two daughters, Jennifer Kajs and Jessica Kajs, both of Piedmont; five brothers, David Landrum Hanvey, III of Piedmont, Michael Vincent Hanvey of Greenville, Richard Mark Hanvey of Gray Court, Brian Patrick Hanvey of Pittsburg, PA, and Steven Gregory Hanvey of Charlotte, NC; and a sister, Susan Meyer of Easley. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kajs was predeceased by a son, John Anthony Kajs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m at St. Luke's Catholic Church with Father Thomas Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Friday at Robinson Funeral Home, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.
Memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301 or to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
The family is at the residence.
