Janie Bernice Bagwell, 89, the beloved wife of the late Dean Bagwell, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, at her home.

Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Andy and Lucy Jane Gilstrap Bagwell.

Mrs. Bagwell retired from Alice Manufacturing, Elljean Plant, after 52 years of dedicated service. She was a devoted caregiver to anyone in need and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving is her son, Geoffrey Dean Bagwell (Angela) of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren, Joseph Bagwell (Emilee) and Nelson Bagwell (Kelly); great-grandchildren, Waylon, Koen and Dallas Jane; and her devoted caregiver,

Mrs. Bagwell was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Charlee Faye Bagwell, and twelve siblings.

A special thanks to her longtime coworker, Margie Duvall, who lived with her for the last eight years and helped her with her care until the end. Also, a big thank you to the Patriot Hospice Care Team; she dearly loved you all.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the mausoleum chapel of Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2410 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC 29671.
