Mrs. Janie McAlister Lark Grant, 85, wife of Thomas Franklin Grant and the late Jay Martin Lark, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at her home.
Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late J.V. and Mettie Stone McAlister, Mrs. Grant retired from Brookline Carpet Company with thirty years of service and First Union Bank with eleven years of service. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, where she belonged to the Disciples for Christ Sunday School Class.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of the home, are two brothers, Melvin L. McAlister (Shirley) of Travelers Rest, and James T. McAlister (Barbara) of Piedmont; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her first husband and parents, Mrs. Grant was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy Lark; two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery-West.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
Family members are at their respective homes.
Memorials may be made to the Rock Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 Rock Springs Road, Easley, SC 29642.
