Janie Pearson Waldrop, 92, of 107 South Third Street, wife of the late Marvin Dee Waldrop, Sr., passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Capstone Health & Rehab.
Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late Charlie Claude and Genie Thrasher Pearson, Mrs. Waldrop retired from the Easley Plant of Woodside Mills and was a member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church where she belonged to the Naomi Sunday School Class.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry Waldrop (Darlene) and Tony Waldrop (Doris), all of Easley; a sister, Claudia Cantrell of Easley; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Waldrop was predeceased by two sons, Marvin Dee Waldrop, Jr., and James
"Rabbit" Waldrop, and by five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Phil McAlister officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Geer Memorial Baptist Church, 911 South Fifth Street, Easley, SC 29640.
Family members are at their respective homes.
