Janis McCollum Childs, 47, of 968 Nine Times Road, died Friday evening, January 20, 2006.
Born September 1, 1958 in Orlando, FL, the daughter of Angeline O. McCollum of Easley and the late Johnnie McCollum, retired Air Force. She was a graduate of Easley High School, an honor graduate of Furman University, and co-owner, with Duncan Ray, of Napa Auto Parts of Pickens. She was a much loved and respected member of her community.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving daughter, Chrisandra "Chrissy" Lynn Childs of Austin, TX; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce Ann and John R. Millard of Flat Rock, NC; a brother and sister-in-law, John W. and Janet R. McCollum of Anderson; a niece, Anna E. McCollum; two nephews, Neal W. Miller and J. Michael McCollum; "adopted" family, Stephanie and Robert Hoxit and their son Garrett; ex-husband and friend, Dale E. Childs; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and loving friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday night at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her mother, Angeline O. McCollum; 103 Butler Road; Easley, SC 29642.
Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown is assisting the family with arrangements.
