J.C. "Jake" Chastain, 75, of 117 Lennox Lane, loving husband of Helen Surrett Chastain, died Tuesday November 28, 2006 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Pickens, S.C., he was the son of the later Oscar N. and Rebecca Powell Chastain.
He was retired from Johnson Motor Lines and a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and in the 507 Engineer, Heavy Shop Company. He was a member in the American Legion in Pickens.
Surviving are his loving wife of the home ; two brothers, Boonie Chastain of Pickens, SC and Oscar Chastain, of Lancaster, SC ; four sisters, Leander Hudson and Lucille Chastain, both of Pickens, SC, Minnie Lee Brooks, of Fountain Inn, SC and Elizabeth Edwards, of Chattanooga, Tennessee ; and a special cousin, Judy Young, of Easley.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Friday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown Chapel. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
The family is at the home and will recieve friends Friday from 1:30 PM until 2:45 Pm, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Andrew United Methodist Church-Front Door Fund, 309 Pelzer Highway, Easley, SC 29642.
