Jean Sylvia Dukes

Jean Sylvia Dukes, known fondly as Sylvia, passed away comfortably at Clemson Downs Healthcare. Born on July 19, 1933, Sylvia led a life filled with love and generosity until she departed on March 14, 2024.
 
Sylvia's journey was one of unwavering support and dedication. As her husband pursued his medical studies, Sylvia worked in a textile mill, MUSC Medical Hospital, and later assisted him in his medical practice. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her family, embodying the essence of selflessness.
 
A woman of many interests, Sylvia found joy in crafting ceramics, aiding her husband's passion for the Boy Scouts, cheering for Clemson sports teams, and cherishing her beloved companion, Gene and Janice’s dog, Bella. Sylvia was a long-time member at First Baptist Church of Clemson.
 
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William "Bill" Dukes; parents, William and Clara Brooks Campbell; her daughter, Maria Dukes, her son Dwight Dukes; and her sister, Pat Lindsay. She is survived by her son Gene Dukes and his wife, Janice of Seneca; grandchildren Nickie Dukes, Kip Dukes, Tanner Dukes, Shannan Black, and Matthew Brock; great-grandchildren Eric and Olivia Mueller, James and Kiki Dukes; and a brother Keith Campbell.
 
In remembrance of Sylvia, a Visitation will be held at Duckett - Robinson Funeral Home in Central on March 18, starting at 10:00 AM followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
