Emma Jean Hinton Gilbert, 77, of 6 Tilley Road, died Sunday, January 3, 2010, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late John and Mary George Hinton, Mrs. Gilbert retired as a manager with Jordan Oil Company.

Surviving are four sons, Rev. Ron Gilbert and wife, Joy of Easley, Danny Gilbert of Cleveland, Roy Gilbert and wife, Susan, of Dacusville and Rev. Ricky Gilbert and wife, Maria, of Easley; two daughters, Kay Smith and husband, Ray, of Annapolis, MD, and Jeanette Perkins and husband, Terry, of Tallahassee, FL; two sisters, Maudia H. Craine of Liberty, Carolyn Lucille Wiggins of Simpsonville, and one brother, Pat "Sonny Boy Hinton" Malone of Phoenix, AZ; twenty grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and many other special nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilbert was predeceased by five sisters, Mildred Louise Harris, Claudia Hinton, Marylou Goss, Lillian Edith Hinton and Nellie Evelyn Hinton; and by a brother, Johnny Clarence Hinton.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Ron Gilbert and Rev. Rick Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Liberty.

Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Family members are at their respective homes.
