Jean Cromwell KarakasMorris, ILMrs. Jean Marie Cromwell Karakas, 70, wife of the late Joseph F. Karakas, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Willows of Easley.Born in Morris, IL, a daughter of the late John and Margaret Halloran Cromwell, Mrs. Karakas was a 1964 graduate of Morris Community High School where she served as president of the school art club. She was an artist and a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Easley, SC, and was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Morris, IL.Surviving are a son, Michael Karakas of Taylors, SC; a daughter Ann Marie Lord (Craig) of Taylors, SC; two sisters, Cathleen Heinig of Sun City West, AZ and Janet Johnson of Morris, IL; and two grandchildren, Grace Tesla Lord and Fayth Kathryn Lord.Funeral Mass will be held 12:15 PM Friday, September 16, 2016 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pickens, SC.Family members are at their respective homes.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception School Art Program, 505 East North Street, Morris, IL 60450.Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or in person at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, which is assisting the family.
