Helen Jean Black Merck, 54, of 104 Gin Shoals Road, died Tuesday August 19, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Merck was born in Pickens County, SC, a daughter of Edna Bearden Black, of Liberty and the late Homer R. Black. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Surviving in addition to her mother, are her husband, William David Merck, of the home ; a son, Homer Ray Taylor, and his wife, Gorda Marie Owen, of Liberty ; a daughter, Crystal Dawn Plumley,and her husband, Joe of Powdersville ; a brother, Johnny Black, of Liberty ; sisters, Sheila Crane, of Easley, Judy Reece and Carol Bigham, both of Liberty ; two grandchildren, Nikki Owen and Dennis Ray "Dink" Taylor.

Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Friday in Liberty Memorial Gardens, with the Reverend Ralph Ashley, officiating.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown.
