Jean Marie Miller, 54, died peacefully at her residence, 162 Will Owens Drive on Tuesday, September 22, 2009.
Born in Statesville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Wayne W. and Ann Stewart Miller. She was a member of PROS (Professional Reactor Operator Society), played bagpipes and was an airplane pilot. As a 32 year employee of Duke Energy, she was the first female senior nuclear reactor operator. She was currently working as a nuclear shift supervisor.
Surviving are a sister, Judy Stutts and husband, Tommy of Sherrills Ford, NC; nieces and nephews, Marcie Stutts, Travis Stutts and wife, Carmen, Jason Rodriguez and Julia Rodriguez; and many, many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Jo Ann Rodriguez.
Funeral services will be 3 PM, Friday, September 25, in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central, SC. Visitation will be immediately following the service at the funeral home.
A private burial will take place in Statesville, NC on Saturday.
The family is at her home.
