Jean Harrison Penson, 83, of Waterford Way, wife of the late Roy Penson, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 at The Haven in the Village at Chanticleer.
Born October 3, 1931 in Cliffside, NC, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Estelle Beason Harrison. She was a retired insurance clerk with JP Stevens with nineteen years of service and was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Pensen loved her family, the outdoors and music. She played guitar in a bluegrass band called the "Harmonics".
She is survived by her children, Lynne Massey, Richard Penson (Patty) and Joel Penson (Trudy); brothers, Don Harrison and Ted Harrison; grandchildren, Melissa Massey, Casey Penson and Madison Penson; great-grandson, Michael Johnson; and special friend, Milfred Lowe.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Michael Massey, siblings, Jack Harrison, Bob Harrison, Gaye Bridges, Betty Hamrick, Jerry Harrison and Russell McNeilly.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
