Jean Lois Nelson Tuten, 95, passed away February 4, 2018, while residing at the Magnolia's Assisted Living in Easley. She was born and educated in Chicago, IL., the daughter of the late Chester O. and Jennie Easterhouse Nelson.
Her first marriage was to James E. Tate. She is survived by four children, Barbara J. Tate, Donna T. Royer, Dan R. Tate, and Ted M. Tate. She also has five grandchildren, Daniel Tate, Brian Tate, Emily Welch, Lisa R. Shell, Natalie Royer, and Jessica C. Havens, as well as six great-grand children. She is also survived by stepson, Alan R. Tuten, as well as nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Tuten was predeceased by her second husband, James M. Tuten, twin brother, Chester O. Nelson Jr., and daughter, Lora T. Carey, as well as daughter-in-law, Pearl Tuten and stepsons, Robert and James Tuten Jr.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Robinson Funeral Home, 1425 Powdersville Rd., Easley, SC. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Robinson Chapel. Burial will be held at the adjoining Robinson Memorial Gardens.
