Jeanette Pace Bracken

August 27, 1930 — April 26, 2026

Easley, South Carolina

Jeanette Pace Bracken, 95, of Easley, South Carolina, wife of the late Milford “Ray” Bracken, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Born on August 27, 1930, in Easley, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late James Claude Pace, Sr., and Camley Virginia Stancell Pace. Jeanette led a life rich in love, service, and dedication to her family and faith.

Jeanette's enduring commitment to her family was evident throughout her life. She was a great mother who cherished her children deeply and found immense joy in her roles as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her nurturing spirit was a cornerstone for those around her, and her legacy of love will be carried forward by her family.

Her life was also marked by her unwavering devotion to her church, Georges Creek Baptist Church in Easley. For over five decades, Jeanette was a familiar and comforting presence in the church nursery, lovingly caring for children and welcoming families with warmth and kindness. Her contributions extended beyond the nursery; she was an active member of the Women’s Missionary Union and generously volunteered at Easley Baptist Hospital for more than 28 years, touching countless lives through her compassion and service.

Jeanette's talents were many. She delighted in cooking meals that brought family and friends together, as well as sewing clothes that added a special touch to family occasions. She was not only a homemaker but also a supportive partner to her husband, Ray, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage until his passing in 2014. The couple met at Georges Creek Baptist Church, a bond that grew into a lifelong partnership. Together, they nurtured Ray Bracken Nursery, a beloved local business where they shared their love for plants and gardening with the community.

Travel was another passion for Jeanette and Ray, who journeyed extensively across the United States, explored every province in Canada, and visited various destinations throughout Europe. These travels enriched their lives and created treasured memories that they held dear.

Jeanette Pace Bracken’s life was one defined by steadfast faith, loving service, and a deep commitment to those she cared for. Her enduring impact on her family, church, and community remains a testament to her character and spirit.

Jeanette is survived by two sons, Doug P. Bracken of Easley, South Carolina, and David B. Bracken (Candice) of Sunset, South Carolina; two daughters, Teresa B. Burdine (Tommy) of Easley, South Carolina, and Pam B. Dillon (Eric) of Easley, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, J.C. “Buddy” Pace, Jr., and a sister, Helen Goodwin.
