Jeanette Ortiz Brooks, 82, of San Antonio, Texas passed away in Easley, South Carolina on July 5, 2019. Private services will be held for her immediate family at her home.
Jeanette was born in San Antonio to Joseph and Louise Ortiz on August 27, 1936. She graduated from Brackenridge High school class of 1954. She attended Business College before working for Southwestern Bell telephone company In San Antonio. She married USAF sgt. Huey Pierce Brooks of Wahalak, Mississippi on September 11, 1959. Over the next 2 decades, Jeanette was a home maker, mother of 3, and US Air Force wife living in Germany, Japan, Okinawa, Mississippi and Texas. When her children were older, she achieved her professional certification in hospital environmental services from The University of Oklahoma. The next decade she would serve as Environmental Services Director for 4 different hospitals in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Texas. She eventually "retired" in Midland, Texas where she and her late husband owned and operated Antiques On Main in Stanton, Texas. She moved to South Carolina in 2007 to be closer to family.
She is survived by her daughter Laura Booten and her husband George and their daughter Rachel and great-granddaughter, Penelope, son Carlton Brooks and his wife Tami and their children Liz, Evan, and great-grandson Harrison, son Ron Brooks his wife Anne and their children Carlton, Alex, and Parker.
