Betty Jean "Jeannie" Whitlock Hoffmann, 63, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at her home.

Born in Greenville County, the daughter of the late Roy Bannister Whitlock and the late Barbara Joyce Gilstrap Whitlock, Jeannie was a 1971 graduate of Easley High School, crowned Miss Easley in 1970 and was a runner up in the 1971 Miss South Carolina Pageant. Later she graduated from Columbia College and Furman University where she earned her master's degree in education. She was a music teacher, educator and a member of Providence Presbyterian Church.

Jeannie had a passion for music and played the organ at various churches including Providence Presbyterian Church. She taught private piano and organ lessons for a number of years.

Surviving are two sons, Ryan Gilstrap Hoffmann of Greenville and James "Jae" Crawford Hoffmann of Atlanta, GA. In addition to her parents, Jeannie was predeceased by her grandparents, L.A. and Grace Gilstrap.

Funeral services will be noon Friday, September 23, 2016 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM Friday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

The family is at the home of her son, Ryan Hoffmann.
