.Harold Franklin ("Jeff") Redmile, Jr.
September 1, 1945 ? May 7, 2015

Seneca, SC - Jeff Redmile (age 69), beloved husband of Joan McLain Redmile, ended his courageous battle with brain cancer on Thursday May 7, 2015 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, SC. Jeff and Joan were married for almost 47 years.

Born September 1, 1945 in Morgantown, West Virginia, Jeff was the son of the late Harold Franklin ("Frank") and Mary Wittich Redmile. Jeff graduated in 1963 from Peabody Demonstration School, and later from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Jeff devoted his 36 year career of engineering with DuPont where he managed the construction and maintenance work on 14 plants in 6 countries. Jeff set high standards of leadership, quality and safety, while making many contributions to DuPont construction projects in Camden, SC; Seaford, DE; Chambers Works, NJ; Wilmington, DE; DeLisle, MS; Richmond, VA; Kinston, NC; Leland, NC; Asturias, Spain; The Woodlands, TX; Charlotte, NC. Retiring in 2003 to Seneca, SC, Jeff's final role at DuPont was Construction Manager for the Gulf Coast Region of the US and Spain, with liaison responsibility for the rest of Europe and Mexico.
Jeff loved spending time with his family, especially his wife and grandsons. He enjoyed life to the fullest, including his hobbies of fishing, birding, hunting, traveling, woodworking and tinkering. He was very active in Seneca Baptist Church, in their Sunday school class, and in the community. Passionate about serving others, Jeff did so with the Foothills of the Pregnancy Care Center, the Beaverdam Disaster Relief Team, and the establishment of the "IronMan Fellowship," a mentoring program for young men. Giving God the glory for everything, Jeff was very quick to offer people a hand, a good laugh, a prayer, and a word of encouragement.
Jeff was an amazing and proud father, grandfather, brother, son and friend. In addition to his wife, Jeff is survived by his daughter, Brandy Redmile Stephens (Jim), from Charlotte, NC, a son, Terry Andrew Redmile (Stefanie) from Monroe, GA and his precious grandsons James McLain Redmile, Joshua Luke Stephens, and Aaron Eli Stephens. Also he leaves behind a cherished "much older" sister (Jeff's joke-she's only 3 years older), Susan Redmile Hoadley (Peter) of Brentwood, TN, and a dearly loved brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bobby and Nancy McLain of Florence, SC.

The memorial service will be held Saturday May 16, 2015 at 11am at Seneca Baptist Church located at 1080 South Oak Street, Seneca, SC 29678 with the Rev. Jim Osteen officiating. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary immediately following the service.
