Mrs. Jeffie "Jay" Cooper Jones, 74, wife of Alvin Franklin Jones, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Jeff Columbus and Viola Alexander Cooper, Mrs. Jones retired from Sam Wyche Sporting Goods as an Accountant and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Liberty, SC
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, David William Brissey of Piedmont, SC; a daughter, Amanda B. Wood, of Greer, SC; a brother, Robert "Bob" Cooper, of Liberty, SC; sisters, Gladys C. Johnson of Liberty, SC. Lillian C. Odom of Liberty, SC, Betty C. Bowman (Clyde), of Liberty, SC, Shelba C. Owen (Herschel), of Liberty, SC and Faye C. Suddeth (Randall), of Liberty, SC; Step-sons, Randy Jones (Cindy), of Greenville, SC and Mark Jones (Jean), of Piedmont, SC; a son-in-law, Stevie Andrews, of Evergreen, NC; a sister-in-law, Peggy Cooper, of Norris, SC; 5 grandchildren, Whitney Andrews, Zack Andrews, Hannah Andrews, Kyle Wood and Tanner Brissey; a great-grandchild, Keaton Andrews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonya Lynn Andrews, a son-in-law, Jerry L. Wood, brothers, David Cooper and Lloyd "Buck" Cooper, and a sister, Ophelia "Johnnie" Cooper.
Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Sunday at Eastside Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Rick Lee officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 2:15 pm, prior to the service, at the church.
The family is at their home.
