Jennifer Louise Barfield, 64, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 5, 2025. She was born on October 15, 1960, in Huntington, NY, to the late Arthur Berger and Josephine Berger. Throughout her remarkable life, Jennifer touched countless hearts with her warmth, humor, and unwavering love for her family.
Jennifer was a devoted wife and mother who embraced her roles with extraordinary grace and joy. Her genuine, charismatic personality drew people to her, and her trustworthy nature made her a confidant to many. She possessed a rare combination of strength and empathy – emotionally and mentally resilient, yet tender-hearted and deeply caring toward others. Jennifer’s infectious laughter and quick wit could brighten any room, and her fun-loving spirit created countless cherished memories for those around her.
A natural nurturer, Jennifer poured her heart into caring for her family. She was a wonderful cook who delighted in preparing meals that brought everyone together around the table. Her selfless devotion to her children was evident in everything she did, always putting their needs and happiness before her own. Jennifer also found great joy in reading, often sharing her love of books and storytelling with her family. One of Jennifer’s greatest sources of happiness was becoming a grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with her four grandchildren.
Jennifer’s caring spirit, unwavering devotion, and genuine love for others created lasting impacts on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the laughter she shared, the strength she demonstrated, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
Jennifer is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ralph A. Barfield Jr.; sons, Michael A. Barfield of Woodstock, GA, and Timothy R. Barfield of Easley, SC; daughters, Elizabeth T. Barfield of Taylors, SC, and Sarah J. Barfield of Greenville, SC; grandchildren Juniper Hopper, Jack Hopper, Emma Barfield, and Daniel Barfield; and sisters, Joanne Figliomeni of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Jane Berger of Glens Falls, NY.
A memorial service will be held on June 22nd at 2 pm at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home of Central, SC.
