Mrs. Mary Virginia Martin "Jenny" Ramey, 93, wife of the late John Claude Ramey, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her home.

Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Ben and Mary Hill Martin.

Mrs. Ramey was a 1941 graduate of Ware Shoals High School. She was formerly employed with Regal Manufacturing in Ware Shoals and Her Majesty in Mauldin. She loved and adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ramey was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis Martin, and her brother-in-law, Robert Cathcart.

Surviving are a daughter, Gloria Ramey Tims and her husband, David, of Piedmont; sister, Joanne Cathcart; sister-in-law, Joyce Martin; two granddaughters, Lisa Dimsdale and Amy Odom; three great-grandchildren, Bethany Spain and husband, Andrew, and Amanda Odom and David Odom; two great-great grandchildren, Bella Spain and Hunter Odom.

The family would like to express their love and appreciation to the granddaughter, Lisa Dimsdale, for her special care and love she gave to her grandmother, Jenny.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 2:30 PM in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with burial to follow in Graceland West Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
