Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Billingsley, 77, husband of Shenia Tumblin Billingsley, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Born on August 26, 1947, in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Bernice Jewell and Colonel Clemson Billingsley. Jerry served proudly in the National Guard and was of Baptist faith. Jerry had a strong work ethic and retired from Southeastern Paper Group.
Jerry had the ability to be very handy at fixing all things. Naturally gifted at music, he enjoyed playing the piano and guitar. He loved to travel and was always on the go. In his spare time, he was an avid coin collector and enjoyed tractors and NASCAR racing. Jerry was also a great cook and made delicious meals on the grill.
Along with his wife, he is survived by daughter; Bebe Odom (Allen); sons, John Billingsley and Chris Billingsley (Amy); six grandchildren, Krystal Billingsley, Austin Billingsley, Keith Pepper, Kaitlyn Pepper (Jon), Maggie Mae Billingsley and Mason Billingsley; great-grandchild, Kamyree; sisters, Lois Goodson, Faye Frazier (Wade), Wilma Lockery (Richard) and Joan Galloway and stepson, Micah Traynham (Haley).
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Chuck Billingsley.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM in Robinson Memorial Gardens, where he will be honored with Army military rites.
