Jerry Hampton Brown, Sr., 72, of Piedmont, husband of Phyllis Duncan Brown, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at his home.
Born July 15, 1942 in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Gordon and Nell Link Brown. Mr. Brown earned the Eagle Scout in 1958 and served in the US Marines. He retired from Span America Medical with twenty years of service and was a member of The Carpenters House Church. Mr. Brown enjoyed fishing and his friends in the Case Knives Forum.
In addition to his wife of fifty-one years, he is survived by his sons, Jerry Brown, Jr. (Alicia) and Chris Brown (Jeannie); sister, Mary Lyda; grandchildren, Reghan Cox, Brett Brown, Lindsey Brown and Avarie Brown; and niece, Missy Hunter.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Tracy Brown Cox and grandson, Adam Duncan Brown-Cox; and brother, Jim Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, February 27, 2015 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
