Jerry "Cheif J Bear" Gambrell

Jerry “Cheif J Bear” Gambrell, 66, of Central, passed away on January 12, 2023.

Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Pelham and Betty Collins Gambrell. Jerry worked as a painter for many years. He was a renowned wrestler in the Smokey Mountain Wrestling promotion and won the European Title. Jerry attended Refuge Baptist Church.

He is survived by his partner of 32 years, Linda Robinson and sister, Nellie Karr. Jerry is also survived by many extended family members and friends throughout the community.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
