Jerry Forest Hayward, age 82, of 55 Randall Road, Taylors, S.C. passed away Friday, July 21, 2017, at his residence.

Born in Holly, Michigan, Mr. Hayward was a son of the late Forest and Eleanor Jean Michael Hayward. He graduated from Pontiac Central High School and received a Bachelor of Education from Wayne State University. He retired from General Motors after more than forty years of employment. In addition, he taught mathematics at Oakland Community College. Mr. Hayward was a member of White Horse Heights Baptist Church. Also, he was a member of Rock of Ages Prison Ministry, and he enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-four years, Marian Ann LaForge Hayward, of the home; four sons; one daughter; one brother; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hayward was predeceased by his step-mother; two daughters; and a half-brother.

The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at White Horse Heights Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 5th, 2017, at Great Lakes Bible Church in Holly, MI. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Great Lakes Bible Church. A private ceremony will be held at Lakeside Cemetery following the service.
