Jerry M. Hendrix

Jerry Marvin Hendrix, 77, of 412 High Valley Blvd., went to be with the Lord Thursday July 31, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hendrix was born in Greenville, a son of the late Alvoid H. and Lilly Mae Gossett Hendrix. He was a 1951 graduate of Parker High School where he was co-captain and most valuable player on the football team. In 1950, he played in the Shrine Bowl. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company and for many years served as a funeral associate at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. He was a devoted fan of the University of South Carolina. He was a member of West Gantt First Baptist Church, the Parker Jock Club and the Dunean Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Norma Bedingfield Hendrix, of the home ; two daughters, Judy Seymore and her husband, Rick, of Powdersville and Nancy Slice, and her husband, Tim, of Greenville ; a brother, Hillian "Curly" Hendrix, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Greenville ; two sisters, Patsy Hammond, and her husband, Jim, of Greenville and Barbara Branham, and her husband, Jim, of Gautier, Mississippi ; three grandchildren, Brodie Seymore, Sydney Slice and Stacey Slice.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, Easley, with Mr. Tony Christopher officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.
The family is at the home of Nancy and Tim Slice, 5 Black Knob Court, Half Mile Lake, Greenville, SC.
