Jerry Wayne Hoover, 83, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Richard Campbell Veterans' Home. Born on October 5, 1942, in Severance, KS, he was a son of the late Garlen Hoover and the late Thelma Rittenhouse Hoover. Jerry was one of six children and has remained close to his siblings through the years.

Jerry proudly served as a pilot in the Navy, a testament to his courage and commitment to his country. After his military service, he transitioned into a career as an engineer where he retired from Michelin, where his expertise and hard work were deeply valued. His professional life reflected his disciplined nature and unwavering perseverance.

Beyond his career, Jerry was a man of simple interests. He found great fulfillment in collecting guns, a hobby that spoke to his meticulous attention to detail and appreciation for history and craftsmanship. Fishing was another beloved pastime, a serene escape where he could find peace and reflect amidst nature’s solace.

Yet, perhaps Jerry’s most treasured accomplishment was his role as a loving father and Papa. He was always there for his family; a steady presence whose warmth and support created an unshakable foundation for those he loved. His family was his heart, and his unwavering dedication was a testament to the depth of his character.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Hoover.

He is survived by daughters, Donna Turner (Kenneth) and Jennifer Stratton; grandchildren, Brooks Lee Turner (Tori) and Devlin Stratton; great- grandchildren, Sterling and Adenela Turner; sisters, Jeanette Eberling and Caroline Starr-Bates and brothers, Gary, David and Mike Hoover.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.

Jerry will be remembered with profound affection and respect. His life’s journey—marked by service, professional achievement, cherished hobbies, and, above all, the love he poured into his family—serves as an enduring beacon of what it means to live with integrity, kindness, and heart.
