Jerry Herbert Merritt, 67, of Piedmont, passed away March 24, 2018 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Herbert Andrew and Nannie Mae Dilworth Merritt. Jerry retired from General Electric where he was a computer programmer for many years. He loved music and was able to play various instruments, his most favorite being the trumpet.
Surviving, are his wife of 26 years, Lisa A. Merritt; a son, Jerry Merritt, Jr., and a daughter, April Pace (Grady), all of Piedmont; three sisters, Betty White, Nancy Lynch and Mary Rouda; two grandchildren, Jessi Pace and Dixie Pace; and one great grandchild, Ada Pace.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents, and his siblings, Jimmy Merritt and Virgie Jester.
Memorial services will be held Friday, March 30, 2018 at 1:00pm at Lifeline Worship, 738 Rice Road, Easley, SC.
The family will receive friends Friday morning from 11:00am - 12:45pm at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Donate Life South Carolina, 4200 E. North Street, Suite 22, Greenville, SC 29615.
