Gerald Lerux "Jerry" Pittinger, Sr., 65, loving husband of Loretta Ammons Pittinger, died Friday, March 6, 2009 at his residence. Born in Tilghman Island, MD, he was the son of the late Odell Lerux and Cora Rosella Frampton Pittinger. He was a member of Gap Hill Baptist Church and was a loving and respected church member, father and husband. He served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons: John (Jocelyn) Pittinger of Pickens and Jospeh (Nora) Toupe of Kathalyn, GA; daughters: Tina (Jamie) Pinyon of the home, Emily Scruggs of Liberty and Jennifer Martin of Six Mile; brother: Jonathan (Helen) Pittinger of Indiana; sister, Jackie (Jack) Jump of Tilgnman, Island, MD; grandchildren: Zack, Maddie, Chris, Matt, Chloie and Gaby and great=grandchild, Kenslie.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30pm at Gap Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 1:30pm prior to the service. The family is at the residence, 165 Eden Lane, Central, SC 29630.
