Jerry C. Posey

Jerry C. Posey, 66, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, January 2, 2019. He was born at home in Townville February 12, 1952, a son of Raymond H. and Alma (Davis) Posey.

Jerry attended school in Townville from the first through eleventh grade, then graduated from Pendleton High School in 1970. He worked in the finance business for a time, then worked in mobile home sales for 35 years. In his younger years Jerry loved fishing and hunting, and traveling with his wife and children.

He was a very generous man, helping many people. He loved his family, and treasured his sisters and brother. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Teresa; a son, Justin Posey and wife Crystal of Pendleton; a daughter, Heather Franks and husband Preston; five grandchildren, Clay, Ella, Wes, Carter, and Mason; a brother George Posey and wife Sun of Grovetown, GA; sisters, Edna Slaton and husband Allen of Townville, and Margaret McAlister and husband Sam of Townville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Brown; and a brother, Johnny Posey.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, January 5 at Bishop Branch Baptist Church in Central. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 PM prior to the service.
