Jerry Fred Roe, 96, a lifelong resident of the Powdersville Communuty, died Friday, December 22, 2006.
Born in Anderson County, a son of the late Isaac Newton and Mary Etta Rodgers Roe, Mr. Roe was formerly employed with Duke Power Company and was a member of Siloam Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Martha Roe White of Greenville; four grandchildren, Chris Roe, Tonya Moss, Amy Roe and Nicole White; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Roe and McKenna Moss; and special friends with whom he resided, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Kelley and family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Roe was predeceased by a son, Jerry McCarter Roe, five brothers, Bruce, Barney, Bob, J.T. and Albert Roe, and by two sisters, Annie Lou McWhorter and Dora Sue Evans.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Siloam Baptist Church cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund of Siloam Baptist Church, 229 Siloam Road, Easley, SC 29642.
Family members are at their respective homes.
